Well I tried again Sunday morning at the Tip before I went to work....Once again the winds were not exactly out of the southwest, more out of the west which was an improvement from Friday and Saturday's northwest winds. Not much activity again unfortunately. The same crowd as Saturday with Josh Vandermeulen accompanying us this time. Bonaparte's Gulls were on the move again, and a few Merlin were flying over the lake. Waterfowl included a flock of Ruddy Duck, Red-breasted Merganser, Mallard and Scaup. A couple of Horned Grebes also flew by. Tree Swallows have been arriving by the hundreds this weekend, and we were all keeping an eye out for Violet-green Swallow. After I left, I found out later that I missed a Red-necked Phalarope flyby. No biggie, as it is not on the Pelee List (see previous post)

Today after I work I took the long way home and drove around Concession E and D looking for anything unusual. I found a nice pocket of birds at the end of D taking shelter in the ditch. Yellow-rumped Warblers were the most abundant, followed by Palm Warblers. A Nashville Warbler, a Northern Parula, Golden crowned Kinglet, American Redstart, Grey Catbird, and an Eastern Phoebe were also hanging out there.
